Early Years Practitioner (Early Years Educator) level 3

This qualification meets the needs of learners who want to work with children in a wide range of settings, i.e. - Early Years Educator, Childminders, Nursery Nurse. This qualification is compliant with the practical skills criteria published by the National College for Teaching & Learning. Learners will learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Early Years Sector. The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage sets out the requirements for the staff ratio in settings delivering the EYFS and the qualification level that practitioners must hold. To count in the ratios at Level 3, staff holding an Early Years Educator qualification MUST also have achieved GCSE’s in Maths and English Grade A-C. On completion of this qualification learners may progress into employment within the Child care sector, progress in their current role or onto further learning - i.e. Level 4 (due in September 2016) Level 5 CYPW (Currently available). Name: Early Years Practitioner (Early Years Educator) level 3 Qualification title: Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (Early Years Educator) (QCF) Qualification type: Apprenticeship Assessment ASSESSMENT: This qualification can be carried out either paper based portfolio or online through e-portfolio. There are 17 Mandatory Units with no options plus 4 City & Guilds set assignments, these are set under 4 catagories: 1. Child development to include Neurological Development coneption to 7 years old; 2. Theorist - to Include Play Theorists and Frameworks 3. Safeguarding and 4. A Longitudinal study lasting a minimum of 6 months. There is also a requirement to be observed and have experience of working with age ranges in the qualification birth to 5 years old with knowledge from conception to 7 years old.
