What is a competency based certificate? The Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services is a nationally recognised qualification that demonstrates that the holder has both occupational knowledge, practical ability and meets the agreed national standard of competency. This qualification follows 3 different pathways through static and patrol guarding, door supervision and CCTV operation where you will build a portfolio of evidence to prove your competency. Candidates will have mandatory and optional units to complete the qualification. There are no formal entry requirements but candidates must be working in the appropriate environment in the pathway they wish to follow. What's involved? The qualification does not involve time consuming and costly periods of study away from work as assessment takes place in the workplace. The employer must provide the opportunity for the candidate to practice the necessary skills and demonstrate their competency to an assessor as required.
