BCS Level 1 Certificate for IT Users is designed to give an initial overview of computer use for the Candidate who wishes to gain a Level 1 qualification. The course comprises of 3 units: Unit 1 - IT Security for Users Unit 2 - Using the Computer and Managing Files / IT User Fundamentals Unit 7 - Web Browsing and Communication / Using the Internet & Email Unit 1 covers the various security areas all users of IT need to be aware of, together with current good practice associated with the use of a computer. It is assessed through a multiple choice question paper. All other units are practical in nature and are assessed by a practical test containing some multiple choice questions.
