The Level 2 certificate of Principles of Care qualification provides a taster for learners who may be new to the sector or new to the world or work. It is assessable to learners of all ages - school leavers who are eligible to employment and pre-apprenticeship programmes, adult returners or those under going a career change and who may want to understand more about working in Health and Social Care. It aims to introduce some basic concepts of caring and preparing for employment in the sector. This qualification is aimed at learners interested in, or new to, working in adult social care in England. It aims to introduce knowledge in relation to working in adult social care. The choice of the 2 optional units will enable a learner to meet the ERR component of the Health & Social Care apprenticeship framework. If they have already secured employment in this sector, or alternatively provide the knowledge around applying for a job for those learners who are seeking employment within the field of social care. A minimum total of 25 credits must be achieved to gain the qualification as follows: Group M - 24 credits, Group A - 1 credit.
