This is a course for students who are 16-19 years of age and have arrived in the UK within the last couple of years. The ESOL Horizons Foundation will develop your skills in reading, writing and speaking English, as well as improving your skills in maths, ICT and citizenship. Specialist ESOL teachers teach your courses and in most lessons there is a teaching assistant who will be there to help you and your peers. On the ESOL Horizons Foundation course all students study the same set of qualifications. These are: Trinity ESOL Skills for Life - Entry Level 2 Edexcel ICT Functional Skills ? Entry Level 2 Edexcel Award in Skills for Independence and Work ? Entry Level 2 AQA Personal and Social Education Award ? Entry Level 2 Mathematics ? you will be tested for the right level. The Trinity ESOL Skills for Life course is assessed by three exams a speaking exam, a reading exam and a writing exam. The other qualifications are assessed by a combination of traditional written exams and coursework.
