BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT

The Level 3 Diploma course is suitable for anyone who sees their future career in IT or computing. It covers a wide range of topics specifically for those who want to become involved in IT but who are not sure which specialism to follow. The main elements cover hardware, applications software, business applications and web development. The course blends together a mix of theoretical and practical topics in a well-resourced environment. The intention of the course is to cover a range of general topics to enable you to keep your options open. In the first year you will study a range of general background units, common to all Diploma pathways, these include Computer Systems, Networks, Databases, Communication and Programming. In the second year, you will follow more specialist units including Spreadsheets, Web Development and Graphics. There are 12 units in total; all units are assessed by portfolio.
