Crafts, Creative Arts and Design (BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design (QCF)). Assessment methods through Aural Examination, Coursework, E-assessment, Multiple Choice Examination, Oral Examination, Portfolio of Evidence, Practical Demonstration/Assignment, Practical Examination, Task-based Controlled Assessment, Written Examination. The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design consists of five mandatory units plus optional units that provide for a combined total of 180 credits. For the general pathway, the 130 credits of optional units required, may be selected from across both the Art and Design Specialist list (Group E) and the Professional Specialist list (Group C). For the endorsed titles, of the 130 credits required from optional units, a minimum of 70 credits must be chosen from one of the endorsed title Specialist lists (Groups F-M) and up to a maximum of 60 credits from the Professional Specialist list (Group C) and/or any other pathway-specific group. This structure allows the flexibility to import standard BTEC units (QCF) at Levels 2, 3 or 4 to meet local needs. This is limited to a total of 40 credits and can not be at the expense of the mandatory units or the required minimum Specialist units for the endorsed titles in this qualification.
