Introduction to Working with Horses

This Traineeship programme provides candidates with an introduction to the world of working with horses. Suitable for anyone wanting to try their hand at horse care and who wants a taster to working in the industry. Candidates will be require to complete the following aims: Level 1 Certificate in Work Based Horse Care (C&G) Employability Award (C&G) Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT (C&G) Work-Based experience Course duration is flexible and can take up to 8 months to complete the full Diploma. Attendance required for 3-4 days a week comprising of 2-3 days voluntary work experience and one and a half days training at our centre in Felsted. This course provides a good foundation of basic horse knowledge and skills, which can lead to progression in to an Apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

Candidates will be required to have a riding hat which is at current industry standard, riding gloves and sturdy yard boots. Warm, waterproof outdoor clothing also essential.
