Advanced Equine Apprenticeship

This is level 3 Advanced Equine Apprenticeship. This programme is suitable for grooms currently working in the industry that want to further develop their knowledge and understanding of Horse Management and running a stable yard. This Apprenticeship framework comprises of the following core aims: Level 3 Diploma in Work Based Horse Care and Management (C&G)* Level 3 Certificate in Princples of Horse Care and Management (1st4Sport) Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (C&G) Employment Rights and Responsibilities Workbook Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Workbook Alternative routes and aim options within this Apprenticeship framework are available, including training towards BHS Stage 3. *There are 4 main routes available within the Work Based Diploma - Care and Management only, Care and Riding, Breeding and Coaching. A candidate would select the route most appropriate to their work environment and career aims. Course duration is 24 months. Candidates are required to be in paid, employed work in the equine industry for at least 30 hours a week. Training consists of both on and off the job training. Training off the job is day release held at our training centre in Felsted.

Candidates must have a riding hat which meets the current safety standards, riding gloves and sturdy yard boots. Suitable warm, waterproof outdoor clothing also essential.
