You will study practical skills and theory of fashion and textile design through a series of workshops',' lectures and seminars. Year one includes projects working with industry designers as well as textiles for interiors. You will be supported to complete a period of work placement. Year two includes specialising in fashion or textiles to design and produce a final collection. You will be supported to create a professional portfolio and exhibit your work at the end of year fashion show and/or exhibition. Subjects studied include Drawing and Surface Pattern Textile and Fashion Materials',' Techniques and Concepts Computer Aided Design Textile and Fashion Design and Realisation Exhibiting Work and Portfolio Development Research and Critical Studies Work-based Placement Assessment will be continual through ongoing assignments',' coursework',' work-based learning',' presentation and exhibition work. Entry Requirements: You will ideally have a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Fashion',' Textiles or Art & Design with at least two Merits or two A-Level passes at grade C and above (including a creative subject). Acceptance on this course will be subject to a successful interview and an appropriate creative portfolio. Mature applicants are welcomed with a portfolio of artwork and relevant experience. Career Options: On completion',' you can convert this qualification into a full Degree by progressing onto the oneyear BA (Hons) Top-up Degree in Fashion and Textiles.
