CACHE Level 1 Award in Caring for Children

The aim of this qualification is to stimulate and encourage learners understanding of the skills required to care for children. They support the learner in preparing for the "next steps" either in training or moving towards the world of work. This qualification helps you to develop understanding of the skills required to care for babies or young children. There are a range of vocational and personal, social development units available within this qualification including: ‘Growth and Development’, ‘Preparing for your Next Steps’, ‘Science Activities for Young Children’, 'Investigating a vocational area', 'Self development', 'Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people', 'Technology activities for young children', 'Musical activities for young children', 'Practical health and safety when with young children', ' Finding out about forest schools', 'Craft activities for young children', 'Understanding play for early learning' 'Sharing learning experiences with children', Human growth and development', 'Respecting and valuing children', 'Children’s play and leisure activities in the community', 'Supporting babies to play'. This qualification is suitable for anyone who wants to gain more of an understanding about caring for children or working in a setting, including those with special educational needs or where English is an additional language. You don't need to be working or undertaking a practical placement to complete this qualification as is it completed through written and spoken tasks. After completion of this qualification you could progress to other relevant qualifications such as the Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care.
