This course offers students the opportunity to develop their skills and interests into lucrative career pathways such as Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design or Transport Design, Exhibition Design, Theatre and T.V. Props Design and Furniture Design. Working in dedicated, specialist studios and workshops equipped with an extensive range of industry standard equipment, students will explore a fascinating range of materials and making processes and learn how to create, enhance and develop their designs using digital design tools like 3D StudioMax and Photoshop. Students will enjoy excellent industry links and be involved in a range of live projects set by architects and designers who help them to develop their ideas professionally. Students also benefit from educational visits to places like Barcelona and field trips to places such as Edinburgh, Holy Island, Newcastle and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Final grades will give the maximum UCAS point score of 420. Successful completion of the course gives the qualifications and skills required to progress into a range of Degree or Foundation Degree courses or to go directly into employment. Career pathways include: Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, Exhibition Design, Transport Design, Furniture Design, Design for Props and Sets in Theatre and TV, Teaching and even Computer Games Design and Computer Animation.
