Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE – Level 6)

At Reigate College we offer an excellent route to train as a teacher part-time whilst you work. Aimed mainly at those wanting to teach in the post-16 sector, our programmes also offer the opportunity to be qualified to teach in schools as well. There are two programmes which are taught within the same classroom. The Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE – Level 6) is for students who have an undergraduate degree in their taught area and the Diploma in Education and Training (DET – Level 5) is for students who have at least a level 3 qualification in their taught area (e.g. A levels, BTEC, NVQ). The content is essentially the same but several of the courses are assessed at a higher level for PGCE.
