If you are aged 16-23 and have special educational needs and want to further learn and develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to enable you to be prepared for the world of work, this is the study programme for you. This study programme is personal to you and is made up of the things which you need to be successful in the working environment. The programme includes maths and English and some preparation for the work place in a practical setting. You will be taught in a supportive environment which will enable you to make informed choices for your own personal and career development. In addition to preparation for work and employment, you will be given the opportunity to participate in a work experience throughout your time in college and also be able to adapt the study programme to meet your individual needs. The work experience will enable you to develop important employability skills, build your confidence and ability to work independently. You will have a personal tutor who will offer emotional and academic support within a caring environment and will receive advice and guidance when setting individual goals and targets to enable you to make the most of the opportunities offered by this study programme. You will participate in enrichment activities which may include, sport and performing arts. There is the opportunity to progress on to further study on completion of this one year programme
