The aim of the EDI Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi and Private Hire) is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of individuals who are employed in providing a taxi or private hire service. This qualification is based on the latest National Occupational Standards for modern taxi and private hire drivers. Course Content To achieve the EDI Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi and Private Hire) (QCF), learners must achieve minimum of 36 credits: 30 credits from mandatory units plus a minimum of 4 optional credits from group 1 plus a minimum of 1 optional credit from group 2 plus a minimum of 1 credit from group 3. Mandatory units • Ensure health and safety of the taxi and private hire driver and passengers • Drive a taxi or private hire vehicle in a professional manner • Provide professional customer service in the taxi and private hire industries • Provide a safe and legal vehicle for transporting passengers by taxi and/ or private hire • Provide a transport service in the taxi and private hire vehicle industries for customers who require assistance • Provide a service to customers using a wheelchair in an accessible taxi or private hire vehicle • Transport parcels, luggage and other items in the taxi and private hire industries • Transport children and young persons by taxi, private hire or chauffeuring Course delivery and assessment Learners work with an assessor and individually, completing activities and assessments for each unit. Your assessor will observe you carrying out practical tasks during your normal working hours in order to meet the requirements of The National Occupational Standards.
