Level 1 Maths can help you build skills, increase your knowledge and boost your confidence. You will develop basic knowledge, skills and understanding in number concepts; measure, shape and space; and handling data.This course gives you the opportunity to learn how to use maths in your day-to-day life in a range of situations from budgeting to decorating the living room. It could even help you support your children with their homework. Level 1 Maths could also be appropriate if you don't have traditional qualifications, or if you've been away from learning for a long time. A City and Guilds Certificate in Functional Skills Maths at Level 1. This certificate is nationally recognised by employers and colleges. Level 1 maths is the equivalent of a GCSE grade D-G. Level 1 maths can open the way to accessing Level 2 vocational courses, as well as acting as a gateway to Level 2 Maths (equivalent to GCSE grade A*-C).
