This is an intensive course which is designed to prepare students for a health related Higher Education programme such as Adult Nursing (all branches) midwifery, social work, BSc Health and Social Care or other related degree courses. You will study units covering Study Skills, Health Sciences, Nursing Studies and Social Sciences. Each topic has units of study that have been created to give you relevant and sound academic knowledge to facilitate progression and your learning at university. Just as importantly, the units are also designed to improve your analytical skills, to hone your research skills and to develop your organisational skills.

To attain this, you must have 60 credits of which 45 have to be from level 3 units and the remaining 15 from level 2 units. Each unit is worth between 3 and 9 credits and has assessment criteria that have to be met through a variety of assessment methods like class work, group work, discussions, timed exams, presentations, essays, research and reports.
