Fit for Life - Preparation for Life and Work

These courses are suitable for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities who would like to extend their skill levels in a subject area of interest to them. Students will work in small groups in a supportive learning environment to compile a portfolio of evidence to put towards an award sized qualification - Towards Independence. Students can enrol on these courses once only. Entry requirements are enthusiasm, motivation and a willingness to learn new skills. Where materials/equipment are required you will be asked to pay a deposit for the full amount which will be refunded at the end of the course if you don’t wish to retain these materials/equipment. Fit for Life This course has been designed to develop techniques in relaxation. It also makes the individual aware of their body and to promote a positive body image. The individual will take part in a gentle exercise programme to improve basic fitness whilst improving confidence in their own mobility. This course is ideal for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
