This Apprenticeship has been created specifically for the international trade industry to help develop experienced individuals who have the knowledge and confidence to help their businesses operate successfully and grow. Employees in freight forwarding, import and export are crucial in ensuring that the documentation meets the legal requirements of each country. Depending on the size of the company, freight forwarding involves administration/customer service for processing export and insurance documentation, customs clearance and organising the movement of goods by road, rail, sea or air. There are approximately 5,000 workplaces in England, whose primary function is in freight transport activities, employing around 6,800 people in International Trade and Logistics Operations. These services are part of a wider logistics sector which employs around 8% of the workforce in England and provides many opportunities to progress to jobs and training in other parts of logistics such as Traffic Office and Purchasing and Supply Management. The Apprenticeship covers areas of health and safety, arranging the transportation of goods and processing documentation. Elements covered within this Apprenticeship include: Level 2 Certificate in International Trade and Logistics Operations (Combined Competency Element and Technical Certificate) Functional Skills at Level 1 in maths, English and IT Employee Rights and Responsibilities Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Job roles could include: freight forwarder, import clerk and export clerk.

Name: International Trade & Logistics Operations Qualification title: Certificate in International Trade and Logistics Operations (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Individuals must achieve a minimum of 41 credits in order to complete this Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship includes: - Level 2 Certificate in International Trade and Logistics Operations (Combined Competency Element and Technical Certificate) 21 credits must be achieved. The qualification will be assessed via: observation of performance in the work environment, questioning, discussions, witness statements, written statements produced by individuals and recognition of prior learning. - Employee Rights and Responsibilities Individuals must complete a workbook. - Functional Skills at level 1 in English, maths and IT Individuals must undertake assessments under exam conditions.
