This Apprenticeship provides a structured approach to training and developing prospective Accountants who understand the needs of the organisation, its customers and the sector within which they operate. The Apprenticeship covers topics such as: raising invoices, cash management, double entry bookkeeping and ethics in accounting. Elements covered within this Apprenticeship include: Level 2 Certificate in Accounting (Combined Competency Element and Technical Certificate) Functional Skills at Level 1 in English and maths Employee Rights and Responsibilities Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Job roles could include: accounts assistant, accounts clerk, cashier, credit control clerk, finance assistant, purchase ledger clerk and sales ledger clerk. Following achievement of this Apprenticeship, individuals could progress to study the Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship in Accounting.

Name: Accounting Qualification title: Certificate in Accounting (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Individuals must achieve a minimum of 37 credits in order to complete this Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship includes: - Level 2 Certificate in Accounting (Combined Competency Element and Technical Certificate) 27 credits must be achieved. The qualification will be assessed via: observation of performance in the work environment, questioning, discussions, witness statements, written statements produced by individuals and recognition of prior learning. - Employee Rights and Responsibilities Individuals must complete a workbook. - Functional Skills at level 1 in English and maths Individuals must undertake assessments under exam conditions.
