The construction industry has had for many years a traditional Apprenticeship programme. There are 1,817,049 employees in construction in England, and by the year 2015, a further 38,630 new recruits will be needed to fill the posts of those that retire or leave the industry. An Apprenticeship in construction follows a pattern of vocational training. Individuals are expected to develop skills and knowledge which they can then demonstrate and evidence in a real construction environment. Name: Bench Joinery Qualification title: NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction) (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Individuals must achieve a minimum of 143 credits in order to complete this Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship includes: - Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations - Bench Joinery (Competency Element) 41 credits must be achieved. The qualification will be assessed via: observation of performance in the work environment, questioning, discussions, witness statements, written statements produced by individuals and recognition of prior learning. - Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry (Technical Certificate) 92 credits must be achieved.
