If you are interested in pursuing a career in the Uniformed Public Services; such as Police, Fire and Rescue; Ambulance; Prison Service; HM Revenue and Customs or one of the Armed Forces; Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force, then this Diploma provides you with the opportunity to gain a realistic understanding of the features of each service, and the expectations they have of serving members of the public. You will be able to look at all of the different services with the opportunity to investigate your particular choice of service. The range of opportunities following the course is broad and we aim to give you the opportunity to gain the qualifications and skills, to begin a career in public services. Other opportunities can include; PCSO (Police Community Support Officer); Special Constable; Reserve forces or perhaps become a member of support staff or a control room operator. If you successfully complete this course, you can top up this qualification to an Extended Diploma in Uniformed Public Services by completing a further year. Opportunities exist to progress to university through Foundation degrees (subject to entry requirements).
