The Level 3 FIS Apprenticeship; is designed for employed team leaders/supervisors/technicians who are working in a range of roles, typically in automated production/processing companies and including packaging, distribution and sales operations. It offers learners the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge required to prove competence at work. The flexible choice of units, allows learners to select units that are most relevant to their own employment, learning and progression requirements. The choice of units also reflects the wide variety of jobs which people do in different types of companies in the industry. This qualification also offers learners the opportunity to develop knowledge in food technology. The Level 3 Apprenticeship is achieved by completing the following qualifications: £ Level 3 Certificate for Proficiency in Food Industry Skills (27 Credits) £ Functional Skills in Maths, English (unless exempt). £ Employment Rights & Responsibilities £ Personal Learning & Thinking Skills The minimum Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the Level 3 FIS Apprenticeship is 420 hours. It is expected that the Apprenticeship will usually last 12-18 months, but a flexible approach to learning is encouraged. Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16, whether they have just left school or have been working for a number of years. Applicants need to be legally permitted to work in the EU, employed in a relevant job role and not taking part in any other full-time education. Apprentices who took their GCSEs more than five years ago and did not gain a C grade or above will need to complete Functional Skills.
