Our environmental conservation courses cover roles that deal with the protection of rural and urban landscapes, plants, animals, and the countryside. Environmental Conservation offers a varied and fulfilling career providing you with skills in specialist areas of expertise such as conducting field surveys and providing information to the public. An Advanced Apprentice works at supervisory level to plan daily work, supervise colleagues and evaluate their work. Typical areas covered include: communicating with, and caring for, the public and others; working outdoor jobs surveying and reporting on the condition of the environment; carrying out habitat management work; planting, sowing, natural regeneration, hedge laying, felling, coppicing and pruning; constructing and maintaining boundaries/ access points; stone walls, posts and wire fences, post and rail, banks, gates and stiles. During the course you will also cover: •Employers rights and responsibilities workbook •Apprenticeship logbook ‘Environmental Conservation' covers a wide range of activities and involves the undertaking of practical tasks. There is an expectation that learners will have a reasonable level of fitness. If a learner is in any doubt about the course details, they should discuss their concerns with the course tutor before they enrol. A dedicated tutor will make regular visits to provide you with ongoing support and will help you fulfill your potential.
