This 10 week course will introduce both hand and machine sewing techniques to create simple craft items, toys, home furnishings and gentle introduction to dressmaking. You will learn how to select and prepare fabric, the art of creating stunning colour combinations, how to use and adapt a simple pattern to fit, interpret the instructions and apply sewing techniques to give a professional finish. Demonstrations and ideas will be provided by the tutor but students are encouraged to work on their own individual projects and guidance will be given.
