This qualification will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills you'll need to work directly with children and young people in primary, secondary or special schools.This course covers specialist support, including Planning Delivery and Reviewing Assessment Strategies to Support Learning Alongside the Teacher, Bilingual and Special Needs Support, Personal Development and Reflective Practice. You will study one day a week in college and spend the rest of your time learning in your workplace. You'll gain a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching, and Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. You could apply for wide range of roles such as; teaching, learning or classroom support assistant, behaviour support assistant or co-ordinator, pastoral or welfare support assistant, bilingual support assistant, team leader or senior special needs assistant. This course is also a good stepping stone to a foundation or bachelors degree in a related discipline, or to higher level teaching assistant training.
