You'll develop skills, knowledge and understanding in public services and apply your learning in a practical and realistic way. You'll study units including Government, Policies and the Public Services, Crime and its Effects on Society, Current and Media Affairs, Police Powers and the Public Services, Physical Preparation, Health and Lifestyle for the Public Services, Social Welfare Services. You'll take part in a range of activities, events, visits and outdoor activities expeditions. You will need to carry out volunteering activities and also a work placement. You will gain a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Non-Uniformed Public Services and Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. You could go on to study a university level course, leading to a career in areas such as social science, business, law, criminology, youth and welfare or forensic science. You could also apply for a job in a range of areas as many employers value the skills and knowledge you'll gain during this course.
