This course is ideal for you if you're already working with adults or children and young people in a health and social care setting. You'll choose one of these specialised pathways: Adult Care, Children and Young People, Dementia Care or Learning Disabilities. You'll study units including Development Through Life Stages, Values and Planning in Social Care, Safeguarding Adults, Promoting Independence, and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. You'll study one day a week in college with the rest of your time spent learning and putting the theory into practice in your workplace. You may need to pay for your uniform and travel. You will gain a QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. You'll be able to apply for many jobs in health and social care, including; care worker, support worker in healthcare, nursing assistant, occupational therapy assistant, physiotherapy assistant. You could also go on to study at QCF Level 3 or take a university level course.
