This qualification replaces the Health & Social Care Level 3 Childrens qualification and the Certificate in Children`s Care, Learning and Development. To achieve the Diploma learners must gain 65 credits. Within the Diploma there are 3 pathways Early Years Childrens Social Care Learning Development and Support Services Learners choose the pathway appropriate to their job and role. The Childrens Social Care pathway is for staff employed in all social care services: residential, day care, respite and community services. The qualification is made up of 11 mandatory units which all learners complete gaining 27 credits. The learner then does mandatory units for their chosen pathway. In the Children`s Social Care pathway there are 3 mandatory units gaining 13 credits. Learners choose from a range of optional units to achive the full Diploma and a further credit of 25 from completing 6 units.
