Accessing College and Education (ACE)

ACE is designed to develop your social skills and work skills, preparing you for independent living, so it covers a broad range of subjects. You will study English, Maths and ICT, work-related skills and Independent Living Skills. You will be taught in small groups and you will be set targets to achive. Both your targets and your progress will be monitored regularly in tutorial sessions. We will asess your individual needs at your initial interview, and if necessary, will arrange additional support to help you achieve your learning goals. On successful completion of the course you may be able to progress to other Supported Learning courses, or on to Foundation Learning programmes, work-based training, or employment. This is a full-time transition course designed for students who need a highly-supportive environment in which to learn. You must be willing to take part in new learning opportunities and improve your literacy, numeracy and social skills. You should also be committed to furthering your education.

Costs for these are approximately: -Entry Level Cookery £3.50 -Sport £3.00 There are also full day visits to various locations, at least 2 a year. -Day trips: £20.00 - £40.00 Some bursary funding may be available If you are aged 24 years or over on 1st September, there may be an examination fee to pay at enrolment.
