You will cover a wide range of music technology activities. Developing knowledge of all the major software, access to state of the art studio equipment and experience of live sound, studio recording and computer based music. This is a practical course and includes tutor-led sessions, performances and theory-based assignments. Units covered: - Planning and Delivering a Music Product - Listening Skills - Music Sequencing - Marketing and Promotion in the Music Industry - Music Production Techniques - The Sound and Music Industry - Audio Engineering - Introduction to Acoustics - Music and Sound for the Moving Image - Music Technology in Performance - Operating Live Sound - Sound Creation and Manipulation - Keyboard Skills - Backline Technical Management - Composing - Special Subject Investigation - Delivering a Music Product You will also have the opportunity to explore Logic, Pro Tools and Final Cut Pro software packages. After successful completion of this course you can progress to:- - HND Music Production - Degree in Music Performance or Music Technology - Employment - Further specialist music training (e.g. Sound engineering courses) If you choose to further your studies after this course you need to achieve a Merit Grade or above. Students who wish to gain employment in music producing, live sound engineering, music technicians, song writing, music publishing or those who wish to progress to higher education.
