The BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma consists of 8 core units plus specialist units taken over 2 years. Each module is taught by a subject specialist. The qualification is recognised by employers in industry, particularly those looking for IT skills at Level 3. The Level 3 90 Credit Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels. The core units you will study include: -Communication and Employability Skills for IT -Computer Systems -Information Systems -Managing Networks -Computer Networks -Communication Technologies -IT Technical Support -IT Systems Troubleshooting and Repair Specialsit units* available include: -Organisational Systems Security Spreadsheet Modelling Database Design Event Driven Programming Installing and Upgrading Software Data Analysis and Design Human Computer Interaction Maintaining Computer Systems Digital Graphics and Computers Developing Computer Games Network System Security *Specialist units are subject to change. After successful completion of this course many students apply for courses in Higher Education and certain universities are very keen to offer BTEC students a place on their Degree or HND or Foundation courses. The skills gained are very relevant for seeking employment in the IT industry. Anyone who wants to pursue a career in the Computer industry as IT Support.
