City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing

You will cover a wide range of hairdressing activities. The method of learning is through practical workshops with related theory input and directed library study and research. The units you will study include: - Client Care - Cutting - Ladies - Cutting - Gents - Health and Safety - Colouring - Perming - Styling hair - Shampooing and conditioning - Consultation Optional Unit: - Reception After successful completion of this course and successfully completing a practical skills/theory test you can progress to the VRQ Level 3 in Hairdressing or VRQ Level 2 Beauty. Employment opportunities include theatre, television, cruise liners, salons, salon management and self-employment. This course is aimed at those who wish to further develop existing skills or would like to retrain and change career direction.

Entry requirements

Students aged 19 and over by 1st September will be required to pay an exam registration fee of approximately £90 at enrolment. All students will need to purchase uniform and textbooks (Approximate Cost = £350). There will be work experience in a commercial environment - 1 week block of 20 hours. There will also be visits to trade exhibitions/seminars throughout the year.
