The aim of the course is to help students get started with computers. This course is for complete beginners and students do not need to have a computer of their own. There will be some demonstrations and presentations to the whole class, and lots of opportunity to practise. Students learn at their own pace. Students will learn how to use a mouse, enter text with the keyboard, save and print work, and begin to use the internet. This is a fun course, and there are no tests and no exams. Students encouraged to take notes. The Warren Centre is primarily an adult and family learning centre, in the heart of Shirley Warren on the Shirley Warren Learning Campus site. It has become an important part of the local community, running courses including everything from assertiveness to web design, mother and baby groups to tea dances. The Warren Centre believes that learning is a lifelong process and that people learn best and achieve most when they are given confidence in their own abilities, and when their own ideas and experiences are valued.
