Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce. This course is aimed at people who wish to work in a responsible role within the children's and young people's workforce. For many people it will be a natural progression route from a level 2 childcare course. The course covers practical, work-related tasks, which are designed to demonstrate competence at work and so to attend this college-based full-time course you will need to have a voluntary placement in a suitable setting for the duration of the course (two years). The course covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is spilt into three pathways: 1) Early Learning and Childcare, 2) Children's Social Care and 3) Learning and Development Support Services. In addition to studying core mandatory units, you will choose the option units that best suit your placement activities. A learner who has achieved the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce can become a practitioner. This means that they are deemed competent to work unsupervised with children and young people and potentially to supervise others.
