A carpenter is involved in constructing, erecting and repairing buildings and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, steel and other materials. Your work will vary according to the type of job and can include residential, commercial, industrial and other construction or maintenance. A carpenter needs to have: Manual dexterity and a good sense of balance Strength and stamina to work with heavy tools and materials An ability to work at heights A desire to do a precise and thorough job
