Music Practitioners qualifications are for students who want to develop their skills in the core element of the music industry. These fully accredited qualifications that involve both the practical and theoretical study of music performance and music technology. Music Practitioners qualifications are designed to have one core unit and one optional unit in order to build a practical qualification that is specifically tailored to the students discipline. Key areas covered for both pathways are listed below. Music Technology: Understand the Features of a Digital Audio Workstation Use Digital Audio Workstation Software Apply Sound Recording Methods Mix and Master Audio Sequence and Produce Pieces of Music Understand Contextual Issues Relating to Music Technology Music Performance: Perform Effectively on their Instrument/Voice Rehearse and Display Musicianship Skills Initiate and Develop Repertoire Rehearse Effectively and Perform Music Live Understand Contextual Issues Relating to Music Style, Audience and the Music Industry Understand the Relevant Aspects of Music Technology The course is taught by tutor-led practical sessions. It makes full use of the practical resources the college has including Apple Mac suites recording facilities and a fully equipped performance venue. Students who wish to study part-time or progress onto further study. This course is for anyone who is interested in music technology and wishes to learn more about how it all works.
