Students who choose Health and Social Care have diverse academic backgrounds and a range of different interests and abilities. The syllabus covers a number of core subject areas including Communication Skills, Equal Opportunities and Ethical Issues; optional units are wide ranging to suit many career aims and include Health Promotion, Anatomy and Physiology, Special Needs, Child Development, Health as a Lifestyle Choice, Behavioural Psychology, Human Growth and Development and Dietetics.
