Distribution and Warehouse Overview The aim of the Distribution and Warehouse Qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of the logistics industry’s workforce. It provides a full insight into the principles and processes of warehousing and will aid career progression whilst providing an up-to-date qualification that is in line with industry needs. Designed to develop the skills of your warehouse, storage and distribution operatives, it will provide the relevant skills and knowledge in many areas, including; picking, wrapping and packing goods in a logistics operation, process customer orders and assemble for dispatch, use mechanical equipment in a logistics environment and receive and process returned goods, plus dealing with goods inwards. Available at both Level 2 and Level 3 Outcomes The Distribution and Warehouse Qualification will benefit your business by enabling learners to meet many objectives; listed below are just a few examples: •take responsibility for their own health, safety and security in the workplace, and monitor the workplace for hazards •take action in the event of an incident, raising the alarm, following correct procedures for shut down and evacuation, using emergency equipment correctly and safely •place goods into storage in logistics operations in order to maximise space, improve distribution and reduce risks •prepare and process customer orders and know how to assemble orders for despatch •keep the workplace clean and tidy and maintain appropriate or required hygiene standards •understand the safe operation of both mobile and fixed equipment with the ability to identify the correct equipment for the task, ensuring it is safe to use and returning the equipment to the correct place after use •maintain, check and record stock levels •contribute to the provision of customer services in logistics operations •deal with returned goods, check to identify condition and re-label if required.
