This is a one year course designed to develop your skills and knowledge in the areas of coaching and leadership, fitness instruction and the effect of exercise on the body as well as sports business and development. You will also improve your practical sports skills. As part of your main programme of study you will work towards a qualification in English, Maths or ICT where appropriate. What units will I be studying? • You will learn about the body’s biology applied to sport. • How to test and train its fitness. • How to improve your skills in individual and team sports. • You will also learn about how you keep participants safe and deal with their injuries. • The structure and issues of the industries. • To lead sessions and organise events. What is expected of me? You will have to run coaching sessions and fitness tests.
