The qualification will build and develop the necessary practical skills and understanding to provide you with a firm grounding in the principles of health and social care for progression into employment or higher level education, especially nursing and other medical careers. Work experience and links with medical universities form a central part of the programme. There are eleven compulsory core units plus a range of specialist areas (totalling 1080 guided learning hours). You are given the opportunity of gaining a broad understanding of the sector and a specialist understanding of specific aspects of the sector. In addition you are required to have 100 hours placement hours.
