Name: Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Business Administration Qualification title: BTEC Diploma in Business Administration (QCF) Qualification type: Apprenticeship Assessment What apprentices learn depends on their job. In all cases, apprentices will complete: A certificate or diploma This has two purposes. First, it will develop the technical knowledge and understanding necessary for their area of work and the underpinning theories that apply. Second, it will ensure that knowledge and understanding is applied at work on a consistent and competent basis. Apprentices are tested in a number of ways. More formal tests and written work will demonstrate knowledge and understanding. Competence is demonstrated across all of the main areas of the job via a portfolio of evidence (which can take a variety of forms). Apprentices work on their portfolio, in partnership with their trainer and manager, over the duration of the apprenticeship. The apprenticeships are delivered via regular 1:1 tutorials in the workplace, supported by online and paper-based training materials. Apprentices stay in touch with their trainer between visits by email and telephone. If the apprentice does not already have good GCSEs in maths, English and IT, they will receive training to get them up to the level required for the apprenticeship. These functional skills qualifications are designed to ensure the apprentice has the literacy, numeracy and IT skills that they will need for their role. At the end of the apprenticeship, work will be independently marked by the awarding body for the qualification, Pearson.
