Course Content: Topics covered include; Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Management of the unconscious causality. Treatment of shock and control of bleeding. Treatment of an injury to bones muscles, joints and eyes. Treatment of burns and scalds. Poisoned or exposure to a harmful substance, gases or fumes. Recognition of minor illness. Recognition of major illness. Management of casualty transportation as required by workplace circumstances. Use of First Aid equipment, including the contents of a First Aid box. Understand the duties of employers and the legal framework. Maintenance of simple records on the treatment or management of emergencies. Recognition of the importance of personal hygiene in First Aid procedures.
