Food manufacturing can vary depending on the company you work for. It could include breweries, dairies, confectioners, bakeries, soft drinks, fish, fresh produce, ice cream makers. As an apprentice you will be following a comprehensive training programme which offers training in a variety of skills in the production of food. The training covers the use of equipment, measuring, mixing, temperature control and packaging. You will need to work to high standards of hygiene and be conscious of quality as companies are working to very high standards.
