As a Furniture and Interiors apprentice you will be following a comprehensive programme which offers training in a variety of skills in the furniture industry. This qualification could be Cabinet Making, Fitted Furniture Installer (Domestic and Commercial), Upholstery, Polishing or Cutting and Sewing. The tasks you may undertake will range from producing or polishing office furniture, bespoke furniture, household furniture, restoration and fitting furniture into location. Upholstery may include working on traditional or modern furniture items. Along with this you will learn design and development and the cutting of patterns prior to upholstering the items of furniture. Fitting Furniture will entail site surveys and ability to complete work to schedule. As a level 3 apprentice you will also be involved in Organisation of work and people, Knowledge of industry materials, understanding of customer expectations, quality standards required within the industry and health & safety requirements.
