Island milling - Using the Rough out, Contour Geometry and Contour Milling cycles to produce pockets of various shapes, leaving islands within them. Using Polar and Incremental commands - Using circular polar and incremental polar angle together to produce internal and external radii, either by producing a full radius and stepping it over incrementally or by moving increments of degrees at a time and milling with linear passes. Using circular polar and incremental polar to produce PCDs Q – Definitions - Putting Q – definitions into simple equations (i.e.: Q1 = Q1 + Q2) to produce tapers among other uses. Rotation - Rotating hole patterns, pockets or profiles. Helical milling using CDC and incremental polar commands. For producing bores or screw threads. Course Aims - To increase the working knowledge of the Heidenhain programming language, to a more productive and proficient level
