Intermediate Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care

UPDATED 20161220 10:32:26

The following qualifications will need to be completed to gain framework certification: Knowledge based – Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care - This provides in depth supporting knowledge for the Diploma in Health and Social care. Competence based – Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care - This ensures that knowledge can be put into practice. Employment Rights and responsibilities Level 2 Award - This ensures apprentices feel confident with their rights and responsibilities in a working environment. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills - This component supports the learner to try different ways to tackle a problem, working with others to find imaginative solutions and outcomes that are of value. Functional Skills in Number and Communication – Will be integrated into the programme to provide support and ensure that key skills are at the appropriate level to take your job forward. The apprentice will spend the majority of their time working with the employer gaining skills and experience, and will have responsibilities to ensure they meet the requirements of their job descriptions. Apprentices will also attend workshops to gain knowledge and understanding, surrounding a set of personal and organisational objectives, which will be agreed at the start of the programme. These objectives will help the Apprentice to make a genuine contribution to the business environment in which they work. Following enrolment, learners engage in a blended programme of training and support that will include attendance at group training sessions, on a day release basis, self-directed learning and a mixture of on-line and face to face support from their personal tutor. It would be helpful but not essential if apprentices have access to a computer and the internet.
