This qualification is designed to give you an understanding of the health and education needs of children, including the Foundaton Stage for three to five year olds, and how to porvide appropriate activities. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children's environments including early years and social care, when working with children and young people from birth to eighteen years of age. Students who wish to gain a QCF Level 2 Qualification enabling them to gain occupational competence for the Children and Young People's Workforce.

You will be working with young people in your placement and will therefore need to gain clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau. This fee is payable during induction when you complete the online questionnaire. If you are nineteen or over on 1st September you will be required to pay Exam Board Registration Fees (£160 approx).
