BTEC National Extended Diploma In Art And Design (Fashion And Clothing)

This course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to forge a career within some aspect of the fashion, clothing and textiles industry. This course is aimed at school leavers, although students over the age of nineteen who wish to retrain are encouraged. Students must be committed to the course and be able to use their own time well in reaching deadlines.

Name: BTEC National Extended Diploma In Art And Design (Fashion And Clothing) Qualification title: Extended Diploma in Art and Design (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment In each unit you will be given assignments designed to achieve clear learning outcomes which will be graded at Pass, Merit and Distinction level. You will be taught all aspects of fashion design, from initial visualisation, through to pattern development and garment production. You will also study aspects of textiles and accessory production. Interim marks will be given to all assignments until the unit is completed. Projects are frequently integrated across units culminating with a final major project. Entry requirements

All Art and Design students must purchase a starter kit of essential media and equipment in year one. Each year students will pay a fee toward materials they will use and another to cover trips and visits to galleries. All fees are payable at enrolment.
