Advanced Apprenticeships in Engineering usually last for 3 to 4 years. The first year is typically carried out in an approved Off-the-Job training centre to achieve three mandatory units for NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and Functional Skills at Level 2. Plus Day Release for two years to achieve a BtecTechnical Certificate at Level 3. During years two to four the Advanced Apprentice will work towards achieving NVQ Level 3 in the workplace.
